RNBW is called a gem — we check the numbers

Rainbow has what most tokens of this market cap do not: a working product with growing revenue, listings on Coinbase and Kraken, and a team that ships code every week. Meanwhile the market values the token at one and a half times the app's annual revenue. We work out whether that gap is justified — and what would have to change for it to close.

The number it all starts from

The Rainbow app takes 0.85% of every swap made inside it. DeFiLlama puts that at … a year, and the figure is growing: over the first two weeks of September the thirty-day revenue rose from $$188,000 to ….

…token pricerefreshes from the blockchain
…market cap180 million circulating
…market cap to revenuecomputed from live figures
…fully diluted value to revenuecounting the entire supply

What these two multiples mean

01

Market cap to revenue — how many years it pays back in

One divided by the other: what the whole issued token costs, and what the app earns in a year. If you bought the entire circulating supply at today's price, the app's fees would return that sum in roughly a year. Mature crypto apps take between five and thirty years — people pay for Uniswap as if for three decades of work, and for RNBW as if for one.

02

Fully diluted value — the same, counting the entire supply

18% of the tokens trade today; the other 82% sit with the project. The second figure counts what the whole issue would cost if it ever came out in full. The gap between the two numbers is the measure of the overhang: that is how many times more the market would have to pay for what is not yet in circulation.

03

Why this is a reference point, not a valuation

For an ordinary company a revenue multiple makes sense because a shareholder has a right to that revenue. A holder of RNBW has no such right — no dividends, no stake, no vote. So a low multiple here does not mean "cheap": it says how much the product the token is attached to earns, while giving no rights to it. More on that in the section below.

Why count in multiples at all instead of looking at the price. Whether two cents is a lot or a little depends on how many tokens were issued and how much the company earns. A multiple reduces all of it to one number you can place next to any other project. Nothing needs recalculating: all four figures above are taken from the blockchain and from DeFiLlama's public data every time the page opens, so they cannot drift apart.

What the project actually has

01

Revenue, not a promise of revenue

… in fees over its whole life. This is not a forecast and not a line in a roadmap: the money has already gone through the app. Most tokens of comparable market cap earn nothing.

02

Listings small projects do not get

Coinbase, Kraken, Crypto.com, Gate. Getting onto Coinbase is a filter of its own, and very few pass it. The token's distribution problem is solved, and it was solved early.

03

A team that writes code

79 commits in a month, five active authors, two of them founders. Releases roughly every two weeks without a miss. You can verify it in the open rainbow-me repositories — on our side it is visible as a live feed.

04

The product is no longer one wallet

Swaps, perps through Hyperliquid, prediction markets. The company says outright that it is moving away from depending on swaps alone. For a token tied to fees, that widens the base.

05

The token really is used

Locked in staking there is … RNBW — that is 13.4% of the circulating supply, and it is locked voluntarily, even though leaving costs 10% of the position. Holders: ….

A finding that exists nowhere else

We went through all 1,129 exits from staking between 31 March and 15 September — for each one we read the contract state at the block before the exit and at the block of the exit itself. The contract emits no event when the rate changes, so this is a measurement, not a reconstruction.

What the exit didHow manyShare
extended the drip term1,00589%
raised the rate for everyone still in12211%
changed nothing2—

Why this matters for the valuation. The staking yield looks jumpy, and from those jumps it is easy to take it for unstable. In fact nine exits out of ten do not touch the drip speed at all — the contract is protected against small exits dragging down everyone else's yield. The mechanics turned out to be sturdier than they look on the chart.

You can check it on the Staking page: the table under the undistributed-fees chart shows every exit and what it did, with a link to the transaction.

Where the valuation gap comes from

A low multiple proves nothing on its own. The market has reasons to value the token this way, and it is more honest to name them than to step around them.

01

The token gives no claim on revenue

This is the main one. The app earns, but a token holder gets no share of the revenue, no vote, and no claim on the company's assets. It is stated that a foundation holds 20% of the equity on behalf of holders, yet neither dividends, nor an exchange of token for shares, nor a mandatory buyback is written down anywhere. Comparing the token's market cap with the company's revenue is therefore only a reference point, not a valuation of a stake in the business.

02

Liquidity is very thin

The main pool holds … against a daily turnover of …. Selling a million tokens into that pool costs roughly 14% below the quote, five million — 44%. A large position cannot be sold here at the exchange price, and the market prices that in.

03

Only 18% of the supply is circulating

The rest sits with the project. There is not a single vesting contract on chain — 73.7% of the supply is held on an ordinary multisig with a threshold of two signatures out of three. The announced unlock of 69.5 million tokens on 5 February 2027 is a promise on a website, not code.

04

The buyback is voluntary

The project buys tokens on the market, and that is visible on chain. But the buyback is not programmed and not fixed to a share of revenue: in July $100 went into it, in September $26,000. The company's leadership has publicly called spending on growth a higher priority than buybacks.

05

The category as a whole has got cheaper

Every comparable wallet and exchange token has lost ground from its high: RNBW −75%, TWT −80%, UNI −86%, SFP −93%. That is a property of the class, not of one project, and RNBW's low multiple partly reflects the market's distrust of the whole category.

What to watch to tell whether the gap is closing

All six signs are observable on chain, and not one of them asks you to take anybody's word.

01

Revenue keeps growing

Daily fees doubling in a week is a strong signal, but one week is not a trend yet. What to look at is the monthly track.

02

A vesting contract appears

Putting the supply under a lock written in code would remove the main objection to the valuation. For the project that is a one-day decision, and in seven months it has not been taken.

03

The buyback becomes programmatic

With a declared share of revenue and a predictable rhythm instead of a spread from a hundred dollars to twenty-six thousand.

04

Liquidity grows faster than market cap

A pool worth 8% of the market cap is a bottleneck. While it stays narrow, large money does not come into the token, simply because it would not be able to get out.

05

Holder rights are documented

Today the foundation's stake in the company is a statement. A legally drawn-up mechanism would turn the revenue multiple from a reference point into a real valuation.

06

Staking keeps gaining

13.4% of the circulating supply is locked voluntarily, with a penalty on the way out. Growth in that share means holders are prepared to pay to take part.

In short

RNBW is valued noticeably below what the app it is tied to earns. The gap is real and measurable. But it is not a market anomaly: it has clear reasons — the token gives no claim on revenue, liquidity is thin, four fifths of the supply sit without a lock.

So the right question is not "how undervalued is it" but which of those reasons the project can remove and whether it intends to. The six signs above answer it better than any forecast, and each one is verifiable on the blockchain — including on this site, in the Staking, Charts and Flows sections.

The figures in this article are as of 22 September 2026, apart from those marked live: they refresh from the blockchain every time the page is opened. Revenue is quoted from DeFiLlama, the rest is computed with direct calls to the contracts on Base.
