In three weeks Bitget gave two reasons to think about where your money sits: in September $351.6 million was taken off it, in October it closed access for clients in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. We go through both events from primary sources, work out what holding your own keys actually changes — and, more importantly, what it does not.

In mid-October a summary spread across the crypto press: the BitMEX founder had named three marks of projects set to win from the AI-agent boom. We opened the source — an hour-long interview with the podcast The Rollup — and found Hayes saying something else. Below are the verbatim quotes, the reason the retellings drifted, and a check of RNBW against the one criterion he genuinely calls decisive.
7 October 2026 · The wallet
The wallet people knew as a place to keep tokens has become a trading platform: inside it you can open positions with up to fifty times leverage on bitcoin, the S&P 500, gold and oil. By volume of code this is the largest part of the app. Here is how it works, what it costs, and how it differs from a swap.
6 October 2026 · Staking
Twenty thousand tokens in staking unlock the top cashback tier and at the same time give you a share of the fees withheld from those who leave the pool. Two streams instead of one — and that is what makes this farming rather than a simple fee refund. Below is the arithmetic on live data, and an honest account of where it breaks down.
5 October 2026 · Staking
What is withheld from those who leave is not handed to the remaining stakers at once — it is paid out evenly, and that payout has a window. It feels as though several exits in a row should chain their windows together. The contract does it differently, and the difference explains why the pool's yield moves in sawtooth steps.

Rainbow has what most tokens of this market cap do not: a working product with growing revenue, listings on Coinbase and Kraken, and a team that ships code every week. Meanwhile the market values the token at one and a half times the app's annual revenue. We work out whether that gap is justified — and what would have to change for it to close.
14 September 2026 · First steps
The wallet takes five minutes to set up, and the difficulty is not in the installation but in one step: making sure you are installing the actual Rainbow. App stores hold more fake wallets than real ones, and they work perfectly well right up to the moment you type your secret phrase into one.
14 September 2026 · Staking
The whole route runs inside the app and takes about ten minutes. No separate exchange is needed, and no sign-up either. There are exactly two hard spots: making sure you are buying the real token, and understanding that staking is a door that costs 10% to walk back out of.
14 September 2026 · The wallet
Rainbow started out as a wallet for Ethereum and turned into an app with a couple of dozen networks, swaps, leveraged trading and bets on how events turn out. We go through what is actually there and, above all, where money must not be sent.

Both wallets are self-custody, both are free, both install in five minutes. The difference is not in the feature list but in two things: how many networks you need and how much you are willing to pay for swaps. We compare on what can be checked rather than on impressions.
14 September 2026 · The token
Four tokens, four different answers to the question of what a holder is being paid for. RNBW returns your own fee, TWT gives status, SFP gives discounts, UNI gives a vote and little else. We go through the mechanics of each and look at the figures that adverts tend to leave out.

There are hundreds of "top 10 wallets" round-ups online, and nearly all of them are copied from one another. We went a different way: for each wallet we took what can be checked right now — the swap fee, the number of networks, whether the code is open, the rating and the number of reviews in the store. And for each we wrote down where it is weak, including the one this site is about.
