Rainbow's charts were rewritten onto native rendering — and the gain was measured

On 16 October two changes were merged two seconds apart. They are not independent: the second sits on top of the first. Both are about one thing — chart speed.

What was done

Measurements the author supplied himself

For a pull request this is rare: usually it says "it got faster" and stops there.

What is unusual here

Together the two changes remove 1,311 lines and add 792 — a net cut of 519. Speed is usually paid for with more complex code; here it is the other way round, because the gain came from changing the approach to drawing rather than from tuning the old one.

For the user this means responsive charts while panning and zooming — in perps, in the token sheet and in Polymarket markets. Most noticeable on weaker phones.

Is this in the app

Not yet. The latest released version is 2.0.46 from 8 October, and the changes were merged on the 16th. Which version they appear in, Rainbow does not announce in advance.
